Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the Great Throne, our Lord and Lord of everything, Splitter of grain and date stones, Revealer of the Torah, the Gospel and the Criterion: I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything You hold by its forelock. Allah, You are the First, with nothing before You; You are the Last, with nothing after You; You are the Manifest, with nothing above You; You are the Hidden, with nothing nearer than You. Settle our debt for us and enrich us from poverty.
It ends by asking Allah to settle our debt and enrich us from poverty. Abu Hurayra says the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to say it when we lie down (Muslim 2713b; the full words are in 2713a). He also taught the same words to Fatima when she asked him for a servant (Muslim 2713c).
Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and from debt.
The Prophet ﷺ used to say this in prayer. When someone asked why he sought refuge from debt so often, he said a man in debt speaks and lies, promises and breaks his promise (Aisha).
So he watered [their flocks] for them; then he went back to the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need."
The words of Musa (peace be upon him): "I am in need of whatever good You send down to me".
Say, "O Allāh, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand[121] is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.
You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account [i.e., limit or measure]."
