92. Al-Lailالليل

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ١1

   By the night when it covers^[1937]

   Listen from ayah 1
2. وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ٢2

   And [by] the day when it appears

   Listen from ayah 2
3. وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ٣3

   And [by] He who created the male and female,

   Listen from ayah 3
4. إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ٤4

   Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

   Listen from ayah 4
5. فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ٥5

   As for he who gives and fears Allāh

   Listen from ayah 5
6. وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ٦6

   And believes in the best [reward].

   Listen from ayah 6
7. فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ٧7

   We will ease him toward ease.

   Listen from ayah 7
8. وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ٨8

   But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

   Listen from ayah 8
9. وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ٩9

   And denies the best [reward],

   Listen from ayah 9
10. فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ١٠10

    We will ease him toward difficulty.

    Listen from ayah 10
11. وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ١١11

    And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?^[1938]

    Listen from ayah 11
12. إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ١٢12

    Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance.

    Listen from ayah 12
13. وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ١٣13

    And indeed, to us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].

    Listen from ayah 13
14. فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ١٤14

    So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing.

    Listen from ayah 14
15. لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى١٥15

    None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one

    Listen from ayah 15
16. ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ١٦16

    Who had denied and turned away.

    Listen from ayah 16
17. وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى١٧17

    But the righteous one will avoid it –

    Listen from ayah 17
18. ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ١٨18

    [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself

    Listen from ayah 18
19. وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ١٩19

    And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded^[1939] –

    Listen from ayah 19
20. إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ٢٠20

    But only seeking the face [i.e., acceptance] of his Lord, Most High.

    Listen from ayah 20
21. وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ٢١21

    And he is going to be satisfied.
