79. An-Nazi'atالنازعات

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا١1

   By those [angels] who extract with violence^[1833]

   Listen from ayah 1
2. وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا٢2

   And [by] those who remove with ease^[1834]

   Listen from ayah 2
3. وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا٣3

   And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming^[1835]

   Listen from ayah 3
4. فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا٤4

   And those who race each other in a race^[1836]

   Listen from ayah 4
5. فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا٥5

   And those who arrange [each] matter,^[1837]

   Listen from ayah 5
6. يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ٦6

   On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],

   Listen from ayah 6
7. تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ٧7

   There will follow it the subsequent [one].

   Listen from ayah 7
8. قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ٨8

   Hearts,^[1838] that Day, will tremble,

   Listen from ayah 8
9. أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ٩9

   Their eyes^[1839] humbled.

   Listen from ayah 9
10. يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ١٠10

    They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?

    Listen from ayah 10
11. أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً١١11

    Even if we should be decayed bones?"^[1840]

    Listen from ayah 11
12. قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ١٢12

    They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."^[1841]

    Listen from ayah 12
13. فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ١٣13

    Indeed, it will be but one shout,

    Listen from ayah 13
14. فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ١٤14

    And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.

    Listen from ayah 14
15. هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ١٥15

    Has there reached you the story of Moses? -

    Listen from ayah 15
16. إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى١٦16

    When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwā,

    Listen from ayah 16
17. ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ١٧17

    "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.

    Listen from ayah 17
18. فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ١٨18

    And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself

    Listen from ayah 18
19. وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ١٩19

    And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"

    Listen from ayah 19
20. فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٢٠20

    And he showed him the greatest sign,^[1842]

    Listen from ayah 20
21. فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ٢١21

    But he [i.e., Pharaoh] denied and disobeyed.

    Listen from ayah 21
22. ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ٢٢22

    Then he turned his back, striving [i.e., plotting].^[1843]

    Listen from ayah 22
23. فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ٢٣23

    And he gathered [his people] and called out

    Listen from ayah 23
24. فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ٢٤24

    And said, "I am your most exalted lord."

    Listen from ayah 24
25. فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ٢٥25

    So Allāh seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].^[1844].

    Listen from ayah 25
26. إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ٢٦26

    Indeed in that is a lesson [i.e., warning] for whoever would fear [Allāh].

    Listen from ayah 26
27. ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَا٢٧27

    Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? He [i.e., Allāh] constructed it.

    Listen from ayah 27
28. رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا٢٨28

    He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.

    Listen from ayah 28
29. وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا٢٩29

    And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.^[1845]

    Listen from ayah 29
30. وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ٣٠30

    And after that He spread the earth.

    Listen from ayah 30
31. أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا٣١31

    He extracted from it its water and its pasture,

    Listen from ayah 31
32. وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا٣٢32

    And the mountains He set firmly

    Listen from ayah 32
33. مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ٣٣33

    As enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock.

    Listen from ayah 33
34. فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ٣٤34

    But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity^[1846] -

    Listen from ayah 34
35. يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ٣٥35

    The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,

    Listen from ayah 35
36. وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ٣٦36

    And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -

    Listen from ayah 36
37. فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ٣٧37

    So as for he who transgressed

    Listen from ayah 37
38. وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا٣٨38

    And preferred the life of the world,

    Listen from ayah 38
39. فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٣٩39

    Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.

    Listen from ayah 39
40. وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ٤٠40

    But as for he who feared the position of his Lord^[1847] and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,

    Listen from ayah 40
41. فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ٤١41

    Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.

    Listen from ayah 41
42. يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا٤٢42

    They ask you, [O Muḥammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?^[1848]

    Listen from ayah 42
43. فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ٤٣43

    In what [position] are you that you should mention it?^[1849]

    Listen from ayah 43
44. إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ٤٤44

    To your Lord is its finality.^[1850]

    Listen from ayah 44
45. إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا٤٥45

    You are only a warner for those who fear it.

    Listen from ayah 45
46. كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا٤٦46

    It will be, on the Day they see it,^[1851] as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.

    Listen from ayah 46
