Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living,[98] the Self-Sustaining.[99] Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them,[100] and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī[101] extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,[102] the Most Great.[103]
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak
From the evil of that which He created
And from the evil of darkness when it settles
And from the evil of the blowers in knots[2014]
And from the evil of an envier when he envies."
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
The Sovereign of mankind,
The God of mankind,
From the evil of the retreating whisperer[2016] -
Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -
From among the jinn and mankind."[2017]
Allah, You are my Lord; only You deserve worship. You made me, and I am Your servant. I keep my pledge to You and trust Your promise as best I can. Keep me safe from the wrong I have done. I admit Your gifts to me and my sin. Please forgive me; only You forgive sins.
We have reached evening; all rule and praise belong to Allah. Only Allah deserves worship, alone, with no partner. He rules all, deserves all praise and can do all things. My Lord, give me the good in this night and after it, and shelter me from their evil. Shelter me from laziness and the troubles of old age, and from punishment in the Fire and the grave.
Allah, Maker of the heavens and earth, You know what is hidden and seen. You are Lord and Owner of all things. I bear witness that only You deserve worship. Shelter me from my own evil and from Satan’s evil and his call to worship others beside You.
Allah, keep me well and safe in this life and the next. Forgive me and keep my faith, daily life, family and wealth safe. Cover my faults and calm my fears. Guard me from the front, behind, right, left and above; by Your greatness I seek shelter from harm coming from below me.
