96. Al-Alaqالعلق

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ١1

   Recite in the name of your Lord who created –

   Listen from ayah 1
2. خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ٢2

   Created man from a clinging substance.

   Listen from ayah 2
3. ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ٣3

   Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -

   Listen from ayah 3
4. ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ٤4

   Who taught by the pen –

   Listen from ayah 4
5. عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ٥5

   Taught man that which he knew not.

   Listen from ayah 5
6. كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ٦6

   No! [But] indeed, man transgresses

   Listen from ayah 6
7. أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ٧7

   Because he sees himself self-sufficient.

   Listen from ayah 7
8. إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ٨8

   Indeed, to your Lord is the return.

   Listen from ayah 8
9. أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ٩9

   Have you seen the one who forbids

   Listen from ayah 9
10. عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ١٠10

    A servant when he prays?

    Listen from ayah 10
11. أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ١١11

    Have you seen if he is upon guidance

    Listen from ayah 11
12. أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ١٢12

    Or enjoins righteousness?

    Listen from ayah 12
13. أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ١٣13

    Have you seen if he denies and turns away -

    Listen from ayah 13
14. أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ١٤14

    Does he not know that Allāh sees?

    Listen from ayah 14
15. كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ١٥15

    No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock^[1952] –

    Listen from ayah 15
16. نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ١٦16

    A lying, sinning forelock.

    Listen from ayah 16
17. فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ١٧17

    Then let him call his associates;

    Listen from ayah 17
18. سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ١٨18

    We will call the angels of Hell.^[1953]

    Listen from ayah 18
19. كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩١٩19

    No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh].
