Setting out on a journey
Glory to the One who made this ride available to us; we could not have mastered it ourselves. We will surely return to our Lord. Allah, on this journey we ask for goodness, mindfulness of You and deeds You approve. Ease this journey and shorten its distance for us. You are our companion on the road and the guardian of our family. I seek Your shelter from travel's hardship, distressing sights and returning to harm in our property or family.
In brief: The Prophet ﷺ said Allahu akbar three times on mounting for travel, then recited this supplication.
